Unique to NSW, this challenging guided walk is the absolute gem of Australia. You will be immersed in 360° views, cross the Snowy River, stand on the summit of Australia's highest peak, Mt Kosciuszko (2228m), see majestical glacial lakes and distant waterfalls, visit the historical Seamans Hut and walk above the treeline, surrounded by mountain peaks through the spectacular and expansive glacier-carved landscapes of this protected UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. On this walk your local guide will take you off track to enjoy the most magnificent views. You may also encounter snowdrifts or fabulous fields of wildflowers. 

This is a long walking day and can be broken down into two shorter walks if desired. Refer to options 1B and 1C.

grade 3 | 6 - 8hours | 18km

This shorter guided walk option will take you up and back along the old Kosciuszko Road, to stand on the summit of Mt Kosciuszko, Australia's highest peak (228m). Along the way you will wind your way up through magnificent NSW alpine landscapes, cross over the crystal clear waters of the Snowy River and visit the historic Seamans Hut built in 1929.

This is a shorter section of option 1A.

grade 3 | 5hours | 11.6km

After a short 10 minute transfer to Charlotte Pass, you will begin your guided walk descending down into the picturesque Snowy River valley before using the stepping stones to cross over the icy clear waters of the cascading Snowy River and Club Lake Creek. Your walk today will be above the tree line, through this expansive, magnificent and unique alpine area of New South Wales. One of the highlights will be stopping to admire the stunning Blue Lake before continuing onto Carruthers Peak where your guide will take you a little off track to enjoy the most spectacular views. You may encounter snowdrifts or fabulous fields of flowers on this walk.

On this guided walk you will follow the Snowy River's cascading waters along a newer section of the Snowies Alpine Walk through magnificent landscapes, alpine heath, snowgum forests, wildflower fields and over Australia's highest suspension bridge at Spencers Creek. 

Your guide, who has all the local knowledge, will offer facts and insight into this unique and majestic landscape, plus expand your walk to take you on a little side trip.

You can expect breathtaking scenery today, with distant waterfalls, mountain peaks and the winding Snowy River. Take a dip in the icy waters, cross the bouncy Illawong suspension bridge, view the Illawong Lodge, built in 1926 and finish up near Guthega Dam, part of the Snowy Mountains Hydro Electric Scheme.

This guided walk through Australia's alpine high country features a touch of history while offering magnificent views in every direction, including Mt Kosciuszko and the main range. 

 
Your guide knows all the secret places and will take you off track through the vast alpine meadows to discover alpine creeks and to delve into the history of the area, exploring the ruins of the old Mt Stilwell Restaurant and chairlift. 

After the completion of the walk, a short 10 minute transfer will have you back at your mountain lodge in Perisher Valley.

Pack your camera! You are in for a real treat on this guided walk as you undertake a newer section of the Snowies Alpine Walk with your local guide. This walk captures some of the most spectacular and interesting landscapes of the Snowy Mountains. 

From Charlotte Pass Village you will wind your way out across the open alpine plains before disappearing into the snowgum bushlands and emerging on the edge of the ridge, where you will be rewarded with stunning spectacular panoramic views, reaching as far as the eye can see.  

The rugged landscape of this walk features interesting rock formations and your guide knows the best viewing spots to stop for a refreshment at Porcupine Rocks. A final descent through snowgum forest will have you arriving back into Perisher valley on foot.

Be on the look out today for birds, kangaroos, wallabies, lizards and echidnas as you walk through the diverse bushlands of Kosciuszko National Park. You may even spot a platypus if you're lucky. Bird life may include flame robins, crimson rosellas, wood ducks, magpies, cockatoos, ravens and wedge-tailed eagles.

Today your guide will take you on an interpretive journey through the tall eucalpyt forest, past outcrops of hefty granite boulders, tall alpine ash trees and Kosciuszko heathlands. 

You'll hear the rush of the creek and catch glimpses of it's cascading water before you stumble upon picturesque waterfalls nestled in the bushland. 

Walking down into the valley floor, through open fields and back into the bushland you will discover and follow the beautiful cascading Thredbo River until it turns into a peaceful and picturesque spot, perfect to relax in and enjoy an end of walk refreshment.

Today your local guide will transport you through historical towns and alpine landscapes to the northern area of Kosciuszko National Park. Here you will step into the magical underground world of stalactites and stalagmites, exploing the magnificent ancient limestone caves of Yarrangobilly. 

You will have the opportunity to splash about in the 27°C natural spring fed thermal pool and take a riverside bushwalk should you choose to.

No experience required! Set out on a wonderfully unique Snowy Mountains adventure with an experienced guide! Walk among the snowgums and out beyond the resort boundaries. Your guide knows exactly where to take you given snow and weather conditions of the day. 

Depending on the time of year, this adventure may be a full day of snow shoeing or a combination of hiking and snow shoeing. 

Your guide will supply snowshoes and demonstrate the basic technique to get you up and going.
